The demise of the company car has been predicted for many years, fuelled by ever increasing company car tax. However, as the BiK percentage on many company cars is the same today as it was in 2002, we believe in emphasising and promoting the value of the company car.
If our industry continues to concentrate on the increasing taxation of company cars, they may well take the road to oblivion. But, by promoting the true value of company cars, we can help you can put them firmly on the road to redemption.
Designed for automotive industry professionals, our training course will summarise the latest tax changes and consider how company car tax might evolve over the next decade. Focusing on the value of the company car, we will offer a range of tax tips and commercial insights than can be drawn upon to promote value to customers, and address other topical issues which your clients could be considering. During the course we will:
• focus on the value of the company car;
• weigh up the value of a cash allowance;
• consider the long term value of salary sacrifice;
• consider the pros and cons of employee car ownership schemes; and
• prove the value of whole life costs.
DURATION: 1 day
The affect of increasing company car tax
When CO2 emissions based company car tax was introduced in 2002, many employers sought to protect their company car drivers from potential tax increases by setting up structured employee car ownership schemes.
Once average emissions began to fall dramatically the government introduced a series of tax increases. As we prepare for the continued rise in company car tax, this course will consider the long-term viability of salary sacrifice and examine whether employee car ownership schemes are still cost effective.However, CO2 based company car tax actually encouraged manufacturers to significantly improve engine efficiency, meaning the average company car tax charge has barely changed since 2002. With both income tax and National Insurance Contributions rising over the years and the availability of tax efficient company cars, there was a surge in salary sacrifice, which has proven to be a very tax efficient way of remunerating staff.
DURATION: 3/4 day
